The second edition of the conference is scheduled for January 28-31, 2016, in Bucharest, at Lumina-The South-East Europe University.

2. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE ADMISSION PROCESS (a complete set of documents, copies and authorized translation):

• Request for issuing the Letter of Acceptance – with all fields completed (please specify if you want to opt for the Preparatory Year or not)
• Proof of studies - copy and legalized translation - gives access to a certain individual that to the respective form of education (Baccalaureate Degree or equivalent)
• Transcripts - copies and legalized translations - related to the graduated studies and analytical syllabus, for candidates applying for degree equivalence periods.
• Birth certificate - copy and legalized translation
• Copy of passport - valid for at least 6 months after the date on which the Letter of Acceptance is issued
• Medical certificate (in an internationally acknowledged language) attesting that the person to be enrolled does not suffer from contagious diseases or other illnesses incompatible with the future profession
• Marriage certificate - if necessary (to justify a change of surname)
• Proof of payment in the amount of 75 EURO for processing the application file.
• Complete personal data sheet: address, email and telephone number, clearly specifying where to send the Letter of Acceptance.

At registration, candidates shall submit the documents from the application file in original, checked for authenticity by the Romanian Embassy from the issuing country or The Hague Apostille; if previous studies have not been performed in Romania, a European Union country or in accordance with legal assistance agreements concluded by Romania with third-party  countries. On 06/18/2014, between 11 and 17.00 hours, the Centre for Geopolitics and Security Studies of the Department of International Relations and European Studies will organise at the headquarters of Lumina – the University of South-East Europe a scientific seminar entitled "Geopolitical and Security Effects of the Ukrainian Crisis in the European Space".

The seminar intends to present the various viewpoints of teachers, doctoral students, masters and researchers in the fields of geopolitics, security studies, international relations, political science, history, international law, economics, military science, etc. that have relevance to the crisis in Ukraine.

For this activity there is no participation fee.

The organisers will request the papers presented in the seminar in an expanded form by the end of October in order to have them published in a collective volume at a CNCSIS acknowledged publishing house.

In the recent history of Europe the 9th of May is a landmark loaded with a special symbolism. First of all it is the official end of the Second World War, after the night of 8 to 9 May 1945 when in Berlin, the representatives of the Third Reich signed the unconditional surrender to the main Allied Powers. Five years later, on May 9, 1950, Robert Schuman, the French Foreign Minister uttered the declaration that made possible the Franco-German reconciliation and at the same time launched the process of the European construction. For the Romanian public consciousness these milestones of European history are added to the significance of the date of May 9, 1877 when the Romanian state's independence was proclaimed in the Parliament. On that occasion, the Foreign Minister Mihail Kogălniceanu celebrated this turning point for Romania's modern history uttering these words: "We are independent, we are a self-reliant nation."

Starting from these symbolic milestones, the Geopolitical and Geostrategic Centre within the RISE Department of UESEL will initiate a debate on current European issues. The ground of this debate will be offered by the conference held by Professor Gheorghe Stoica on "Perspectives for the European Union in the Context of Current International Relations." The students and teachers from RISE, ADA, LMA, Pedagogy departments, as well as the general public interested in this issue will have the opportunity to address questions to the lecturer and even to initiate new analysis perspectives on this topic.

The event will take place between 12 and 14 hours, in room E208.

For those who want to know Turkish better, Lumina – the University of South-East Europe provides intensive courses in Turkish, in Istanbul.

The courses will be held from August 11 to August 25, 4 daily hours of training.
