These days we were honored by the presence of His Excellency O. Fidelis Muoh, Ambassador of the Nigerian Federal Republic with his wife. Welcomed by Mr. President Prof. Univ. Dr. Huseyin Padem, they visited the classrooms, laboratories, library, as well as the rooms made for students to relax at the Lumina University of South-East Europe. During this visit they talked about future changes and inter-scholar collaborations, about projects that the university will run with the students of the University from Nigeria. Mr. Prof. Univ. Dr. Huseyin Padem talked to the two officials about the values and mission of the Lumina University of South-East Europe, as well as the importance and quality university education.
GROW takes place these days at Lumina University. Teenagers that want to make new friends and learn interesting things gather every day in the rooms special preapared for this event and play games with their trainers. The president of the institution, Prof. Dr. Huseyin Padem wanted to meet all of the trainers and invited them in the Council Room. He hopes that all the participants will have a great time in our university.
The board of Lumina University organized Iftar dinner with the employees. The dinner represented a way of understandig better the meaning of the event. For the moslems, Iftar dinner is taken every day after sunset during the Ramadan month.
DevOps Summer Bootcamp started! For a week, the participants work on the network from FOSS laboratories with the organizers of the event- Lect. Dr. Alexandru Ciaoca.
The bootcampt wants to teach the participants new technologies in the IT field like git, svn, Docker, deeplearnign platform and more.
A few days ago some teachers from Epoka University from Tirana, Albania visited Lumina University. They were visiting Bucharest and accepted the invitation of Mr. President Prof. Dr. Huseyin Padem to see our campus.
World RobotOlympiadtook place at Lumina University. The littleinventatorsmanagedto create impressivemachines. Whatisthe contest about? WRO is a event created for technology, design andeducationthatbringstogetherchildren that want to accumulateknowledge. The schoolsthat got involved in theprojectbring a team of 3 childrenthathavetobuild a robot thatiscapabletoperform a challenge. The creativity of theschoolarssurprisethejuryeverytime. Congratulationstoallthefutureengineers!
The volunteersthatparticipated at theinternationalphase of theInfomatrix contest wereawarded. The president of theuniversity -Prof. Dr. HuseyinPademmgavethemthe certificate of appreciationafterhethankthem for thecontribution. He mentionedthattheinvolvment in differentprojectsisvery important for eachone CV andhopesthattheywill participate in thefutureevents as well.
The international phase of the Infomatrix competition took place at the end of last week at International School of Bucharest. Students from more than 40 countries participated in this competition with interesting projects. Even though they were emotional the atmosphere was not tense. A dance united all the participants and created friendships. After the award ceremony particpants from Mexico visited Lumina University.
