Department for Student Problems
Since college means more than classes and since our students are constantly involved in multiple activities (contests, volunteering, practice and internship, etc.) we have created a department that will listen to their wishes and will always give them the best guidance in order to carry out their plans. This Department can be found on the ground floor, room P61.
Leisure
On hot summer days, students can socialise on the outdoor patio, while enjoying a coffee or playing table tennis. On colder days, they can meet in the Student Corner, a space intended for leisure and socialisation. In addition, we have arranged a fitness room where students can be trained by a personal trainer. The reading room of the library is equipped with 22 computers with Internet access which may be freely used by students. Wireless Internet access is available over the whole surface of the campus.
Student Clubs
To ensure the personal development outside the academic curriculum, we encourage students to become members of the existing student clubs or to found new clubs alongside their colleagues. They are constantly expanding with each group of students who discover a shared passion and a desire to explore a new field. The University supports these initiatives through consulting, PR, and can even allocate material resources to projects which help to increase the prestige of the university.
Student Corner
In the new Social Centre of the university since the summer of 2013 can be found a Student Corner, a space created just for students, which promotes the idea of university outside school hours. Here, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, students can play billiards, table football and table tennis, listen to music or simply chat over a coffee with other colleagues. The Student Corner also possesses a TV set to which laptops can be connected, two computers for e-mail and Facebook, as well as a meeting table for the members of student clubs.
MSDN Academic Alliance (briefly MSDN AA) is a programme of access to technology, addressed to educational institutions or organisations supporting, in relation to these educational institutions, pupils' and students' access to technology and specialised education.
The programme provides access to operating systems, platforms and development tools, server products and Microsoft applications, for educational purposes and / or extra-commercial research.
MSDN Academic Alliance is de facto programme of access to technology in the specialised chairs and faculties of an educational institution (or departments that organise courses of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, briefly "STEM").
The technologies and products included in this programme are a good part of Microsoft's commercial offer in fields such as application platforms, IT infrastructures, embedded systems, portal technologies or infrastructures for high-performance computing.
A central place in the offer of MSDN Academic Alliance programme is represented by the operating systems from MS-DOS for Windows XP, Windows XP Tablet PC and Windows Vista, Small Business Server and Windows Server 2003 Compute Cluster Pack for High Performance Computing, Windows EC. NET 5.0 for embedded systems and services such as Windows SharePoint services, Software Update Services or Windows Services for UNIX.
As regards popularity, development tools constitute the second largest category of products included in MSDN AA from Visual FoxPro and Embedded Visual C + + 4.0 to Visual SourceSafe 2005, Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition, Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server and Windows CE Tools. Practically all the editions of Visual Studio 2005 tool are available through the MSDN Academic Alliance in order to contribute to a comfortable learning experience in the different stages of preparation of a student - Express editions in introductory programming courses or the editions of Visual Studio Team System subsequently in software engineering courses.
Moving forward in the platform of Microsoft applications, through MSDN AA, we certainly provide access to SQL Server 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006, two servers which complete this field alongside the application server (Windows Server 2003) and the family of development tools, Visual Studio 2005.
The Microsoft server family available through MSDN AA is also substantial - from messaging scenarios (Exchange Server, Mobile Information Server), to portal applications scenarios (SharePoint Portal Server), complex IT infrastructure management and monitoring (Systems Management Server, System Center Capacity Planner, System Center Data Protection Server, Microsoft Operations Manager) or IT infrastructure security (ISA Server). The list is completed by other specialised servers such as Speech Server, Host Integration Server, Live Communications Server, Commerce Server or Office Project Portfolio Server.
MSDN AA includes MSDN Library (collections of technical articles, classes of documentation and code examples) and Knowledge Base (for technical support).
Also as part of the subscription are available several applications from the family of Microsoft Office applications, such as Access, Visio, InfoPath, OneNote or Project.
Most of the other development platforms (.NET Framework 2.0, .NET Compact Framework 2.0) and SDK or DDK type tools (e.g. DirectX SDK, Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK) from Microsoft's offer are included in MSDN AA.
The university campus has, in addition to classrooms and laboratories, a conference hall, a 300-seat amphitheatre and a library. In the reading room of the library students have free access to the Internet by using its 22 computers. Meals are served in the restaurant which is equipped with its own kitchen, and students can enjoy a coffee or play table tennis on the outdoor patio. The new gymnasium offers students a multipurpose field (for basketball, volleyball, badminton, etc.), a sports hall for gym and wrestling as well as a fitness room. The building has a centralised air conditioning system, a surveillance system and wireless Internet access. The security of the campus is ensured by a private company.
Computer labs are equipped with cutting edge stations, while those of electronic with last generation equipment, also used in research activities. All labs and classrooms are equipped with projectors and Internet access, and in certain places interactive whiteboards can also be used. The equipment of the Physics lab allows the conduct of experiments in nine different areas. Mechatronics Laboratory is intended for research, but is at the same time the place where the Robotics Club of the university operates.
Teachers are carefully selected and have as primary mission the student's personal development. The faculty is made up of teachers with outstanding contributions to their field of expertise, but comprises also teachers with a great potential who are at the beginning of their career. The teaching methods are oriented towards practical aspects and course supports are renewed annually. Every week each teacher allocates two hours to meet with his / her students and discuss the problems encountered.
In order to truly develop students' character and skills they should be faced with real life situations which they will have to cope with after graduation. In our university there are several clubs where students can carry out their own projects and organise by themselves actions and events: the Robotics Club, Tea & Talk Club, Volunteering Club, Film Club, Photography Club or the students' magazine. In addition, students can come up with proposals as to the creation of new clubs.
Our University offers its students a chance to integrate more easily into professional life through the partnerships established with renowned institutions and companies. Students can pursue practice stages and internships over extended periods of time, during which they form a basic experience in a real job. Many partners prefer to hire graduates who have conducted practical programmes in their company.

Through the conducted student exchange programs with partner universities, students have the opportunity to study one or two semesters in a similar specialization at a university abroad.
Students entering these programs improve their career prospects, with higher chances of employment after graduation through the skills acquired during the period in which they live abroad: independence, communication, negotiation, etc..
Partner Universities:
Practical training and internships are very important for the professional experience that students must acquire until graduation. A CV as rich as possible, through which the student demonstrates he / she possesses a solid professional basis and the recommendations of acknowledged companies increase significantly the chances of employment.
Starting with the second year, UESEL students from all the four undergraduate programmes can choose from nearly 20 companies where to pursue their practice stages. These traineeships vary in duration, depending on the company's policy: from three weeks to extensive internship programmes of six months. The practical training is ensured by Lumina - the University of South-East Europe through the partnerships it concluded with:
