Lumina – the University of South-East Europe was founded in 2010 as a result of preparations that lasted for nearly three years. The university opened its doors in October 2010, with four approved study programmes.

The campus, located in the 2nd district of the capital, is one of the most modern in Romania. The laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences have latest generation electronic and computing equipment, used in both teaching and research activities. Course and seminar rooms, as well as laboratories are equipped with projectors, have quality furnishings and are connected to the centralized air conditioning system. Each study programme uses at least one multimedia classroom equipped with smart board, allowing teachers to make classes more interactive and more appealing to students.

Among the facilities offered on the campus let us mention the restaurant with its own kitchen, a bar, an outdoor patio and a fitness room with changing rooms and showers.

In 2011 was inaugurated the Aula Magna, with a capacity of 300 people. Its hall is designed to host international conferences and different kinds of shows.

Another two study programmes Pedagogy and Applied Modern Languages (English-French and English-Turkish) were authorized in 2013.

In the same year was inaugurated the Student Center, which includes a gymnasium with an indoor basketball court, a sports hall for gym and wrestling, as well as office premises. Within the complex was set up an ample space for students, called Student Corner, where they can spend their leisure time by playing table tennis, billiards, fuseball or listening to music.

In 2014, Business Administration and International Relations and European Studies study programmes were accredited by Ministry of Education in Romania.

In 2015 our university started accepting foreign students especially in the Business Administration and International Relations and European Studies and authorized another new attractive program of Applied Computer Sciences in 2016.
